3 MOUNTAINS, 3 DAYS, 3 DADS - JOB DONE!

The dads have successfully scaled Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.  The climbs were not without incident and involved an injured foot, heavy snow, whiteout conditions, hail storms and gale force winds.  The picture gallery has been updated but watch this space for a full report.

Iwade Dads Intrepid Outdoor Trek is the brainchild of Andrew Smith, father of four and husband to one.  Andrew is joined by Adrian and Clive.  Together we make up 'The Iwade Dads'.

With seven children between us we would like to contribute to the future education of youngsters in Iwade and are aiming to raise funds for Iwade Primary School by undertaking a personal challenge.

Our aim is to climb the UK's three highest mountain peaks in three days.  Click here to see our planned routes.

First up will be Ben Nevis in the Scottish Highlands.  At 4,409 feet it is the highest of the three peaks.  There is an established route up the mountain but the last stretch is usually covered in snow - even in Summer.

Scafell Pike in the gorgeous English Lake District is our second target.  Although the lowest of the three peaks at 3,208 feet it is arguable the most technical and challenging.  With steep inclines and plenty of opportunity to work those thigh muscles Scafell promises to be a challenge.

Last up is Mount Snowdon in North Wales.  At 3,559 feet Snowdon sits at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park.  Often covered in snow until late Spring Snowdon offers fantastic views of the North Wales coast and on a clear day, Ireland.

The Dads are very grateful to all the companies and individuals who are supporting our challenge.  Please take a moment to visit our supporters page.
